Comment below and she may address them in a future video!\n\nCheck out our website! \u2192 http:\/\/ www.betterbones.com\n\nWant to connect with Better Bones on social media?\nLike on Facebook \u2192 http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/betterbonesbetterbody\n\u200bFollow on Twitter \u2192 http:\/\/www.twitter.com\/drsusanbrown\n\u200bFollow our Instagram \u2192 http:\/\/www.instagram.com\/betterbonesbetterbody\n\u200bCheck out our Pinterest \u2192 http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/betterbonesbetterbody\n\n#osteoporosis #osteopenia #bonemass #bonehealth #weightandbonemass #womenshealth #drsusanbrown #betterbonesbetterbody #preventosteoporosis\nExercise for bone health: patreon.com\/betterbones\n\nTranscription:\nhi I'm Susan brown and I welcome you to\nmy kitchen more and more these days\nscientists are documenting that\nosteoporosis involves an inflammatory\nprocess a process of not normal but\nexcessive inflammation by which bone\ntissue is chronically torn down and not\nreplaced by healthy new tissue this\nexcess and often uncontrolled\ninflammation is related to a lack of\nantioxidants and dietary imbalance a\nplan centered diet is high in\nantioxidants and plant phenolic\ncompounds this diet can help reduce\ninflammation help alkalize and enhance\ntissue repair today I'm going to show\nyou a savory red lentil curry dish that\nis high in beneficial antioxidants and\nnatural anti-inflammatory compounds the\ningredients to this curry are the red\nlentils of course these lentils are a\ngood source of not only protein but also\nfiber and antioxidants the tomato puree\nused in the recipe is high in lycopene a\ngreat antioxidant shown capable of\nsignificantly reducing bone breakdown\nthe spices cumin ginger garlic chili\nonion and turmeric are chock-full of\nantioxidant flavonoids and other\nbeneficial phenolic compounds so let's\nlook at just how we made this red curry\nlentil first we take one large onion and\nwe fry up this onion in ghee a\ntablespoon or so of ghee ghee is a\nreally excellent form of oil a clarified\nbutter we set the onions to saute in the\nmeantime we've washed the lentils and\nwe've put them in a pan of water\nprobably just barely covering the\nlentils with water they don't need much\nwater we let them simmer and then we\nbegin to prepare the curry spices so we\nput together the teaspoon of turmeric a\ntablespoon of curry powder actually a\nteaspoon of chili powder teaspoon of\nground cumin and then of course we have\nour ginger a great spice a teaspoon of\nginger we mince up\nand in addition to the use of some\ngarlic a teaspoon of garlic this little\ntiny garlic you see is actually garlic\nfrom my garden it's small but it's very\ntasty and very healthy so we take first\nthese dry spices we put them in the\nfrying pan once the onions are\ncaramelized maybe adding a little morgie\nwe saute or you would almost call fry up\nthese spices you'll notice there's a\nterrific aroma a wonderful aroma comes\noff that smell of of curry as we fry\nthese spices then as they've cooked just\na minute or so we add the garlic and\nthen the ginger and we add the paste the\ncurry paste the two tablespoons of curry\npaste and the 14 ounces of tomato puree\nthis high lycopene tomato puree so we\nhave this sauce cooking together\nsimmering for a bit while the lentils\nare finishing none of the recipe takes\nvery long but we do want to let the\nspices simmer and integrate the flavors\ntogether there's also a tad bit of salt\n1 teaspoon and a little bit of white\nsugar the Indians frequently use white\nsugar you can substitute something else\nif you like but this works very well in\nthis recipe just a little teaspoon so we\nhave our sauce simmering it's very tasty\nwhen we notice the lentils are done then\nwe we get 8 what we have here is we have\nthe the curry that we made just a few\nhours earlier and I like to serve it on\nrice and so what we do is we take some\nof this red lentil curry we put it on\nrice and each individual can serve\nthemselves of course putting more curry\non it as they like I can tell right from\nhere that it's very savory very\ndelicious and then I would often serve\nthis dish with something like steamed\nbroccoli steamed carrots and maybe put a\nlittle salad dressing on this you know\nthere's many many wonderful curry\nrecipes all of them are very anti\ninflammatory","thumbnailUrl":["https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/TmD_E4EFKyE\/default.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/TmD_E4EFKyE\/mqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/TmD_E4EFKyE\/hqdefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/TmD_E4EFKyE\/sddefault.jpg","https:\/\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/TmD_E4EFKyE\/maxresdefault.jpg"],"uploadDate":"2014-08-15T19:52:00+00:00","duration":"PT5M","embedUrl":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TmD_E4EFKyE","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCm6Zry9uGdrZpm05sQLIxMw#Organization","url":"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCm6Zry9uGdrZpm05sQLIxMw","name":"Dr. Susan E.
